MOSS: 100% Unattended Installation

Hold on guys (and gals)! I have been doing this for last couple of weeks. Early next week you shall start seeing the series come through.

I am so excited about this, since it’s 100% unattended.

Right from .net 3 through SQL SERVER 2005 to MOSS 🙂

Stay tuned, while I document this series.

  1. I have an unattended install for the binaries and I am now working on automated the deployment. i.e creating wep apps, ssp, sites, permissions, starting services.
The install I did with an xml manifest and it works great. I am stuck on one piece of the stsadm code

I am trying to start some services via stsadm.
I can start the web service but I cant start the other required

    This works:
stsadm.exe -o provisionservice -action start -servicetype spwebservice

    This doesn’t
stsadm.exe -o provisionservice -action start -servicetype SPSearch

I have tried a ton of other ways and I still get this same error
